Utility and Ventilation Studies

An important assignment for Atkinson Engineering Inc. is to study existing plant utility systems to assess capacity and demand loads. This usually involves identifying and cost estimating ways to increase capacity to satisfy process additions.

Another frequent mandate is to assess existing plant natural and mechanical ventilation and development improvements.

Some of these projects have included:

Catalytic Converter Core Manufacturing - Feasibility study of converting process cooling from city water to cooling tower system.

Aluminum Casting Plant - Review and cost estimating of options for new High Voltage Switchgear.

Aluminum Casting Plant - Prepare drawings of entire existing gas, sanitary, storm, and waste water piping throughout plant based on old drawings and field reviews.

Galvanizing Line - Study of contaminants in building air including modelling, field measuring and recommending solution.

Aluminum Castings - Study of existing process cooling water demands and capacities with recommended upgrades and budget costing.

Aluminum Castings Plant - Review of existing plant compressor air system and distribution with recommendations for future expansion.

Aluminum Castings - Ventilation study and recommendations to improve plant environment.

Colour Toner Plant - Review of capacity of existing process cooling tower system and options for expansion under new parameters and loads.

Steel Finishing Plant - Ventilation study incorporating process heat and moisture problems with recommended solutions and costing.

Aluminum Casting Plant - Complete review of existing process cooling water system equipment, piping and demands, and recommendations for upgrade.
