New industrial building complex consisting of three crane runway
buildings, two electrical and computer buildings, and four truck
and equipment enclosures constructed at a cost of $30 Million. Engineering
included design of buildings; crane runways; various heating, ventilation,
and exhaust systems; building services; main process utility lines;
and visitor and service walkways and stairs.
The new 60,000 sq. ft. Pickle Line building houses a 50 tonne
crane. The 46,000 sq. ft. Cold Mill building houses a 100 tonne
crane. The 90,000 sq. ft. Coil Storage building houses 2 - 50 tonne
156 ft. span cranes. The 105,000 sq. ft. Delivery Power House is
a six-storey building housing the electrical and computer equipment
for the exit end process. The Entry Power House is a four-storey
building with a total floor area of 22,000 sq. ft.
The heating and ventilation systems include 17 indirect-fired
natural gas door and make-up air heaters of 3,125 MBH each, 9 direct-fired
natural gas make-up air units of 8,800 MBH each, 22 roof mounted
exhaust fans for a total exhaust of 643,000 cfm, 12 make-up air
fans for 360,000 cfm, 4,400 sq. ft. of roof gravity ventilators,
and 5,000 sq. ft. of operable wall air-intake louvres.
Process services involved 10" high pressure superheated steam,
10" city water, 10" compressed air, 6" natural gas,
and 36" cooling water supply and return.
