Aluminum Casting Plant - 1997-1998 Plant Expansions

Atkinson Engineering Inc. has completed many phased renovations and additions to an existing plant to accommodate the addition of 12 new die-casting machines ranging in size from 800 ton to 4000 ton. The plant produces cast aluminum engine parts for the auto industry.

On completion, most of the 110,000 sq. ft. plant had been rebuilt or modified with higher roofs and heavier crane runways.

Utility additions included new die storage and tool shop, compressor room, electrical switchgear room, and new locker facility.

Engineering included machine foundations and utility piping, machine cell layouts and equipment integration, plant ventilation systems, compressed air system, upgrades to cooling water and die lubricant system, and complete upgrade of electrical power distribution.
