Exhaust Fans and Air Handler, Mass Spectrometer Lab, Micro
Paleontology Lab, Undergraduate Wet Lab
|
- Renovation to the existing fourth floor totalling 11,000 square
feet housing new laboratories for undergraduate and research work
in soils, water, contaminants, luminescence, micro paleontology,
stable isotopes, x-ray and mass spectrometry, and chemistry clean
room.
- The existing mechanical room on the fourth floor of the building
houses new mechanical equipment with some equipment located on
the roof serving the new laboratories in the building.
- Renovations to the second floor of the building included demolition
of all existing laboratories including the equipment, fixtures,
upgrades to existing make-up air handler and dual temperature
fan coil heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and
plumbing and electrical infrastructure.
- Unique features are clean room lab area for chemistry research
with new dedicated air handling system for fume hoods, laminar
flow hoods and canopy hood, new dedicated air handling system
and process cooling system for mass spectrometer and x-ray laboratories,
and associated support rooms and Perchloric fume hood and exhaust
system with washdown.
- New systems include high plume manifolded fume exhaust for
14 variable volume fume hoods and canopy hoods, refurbished
make-up air handler, electronic laboratory controls for the building
