Atkinson Engineering Inc. has considerable structural engineering experience with institution buildings. Clients have included universities, hospitals, school boards, financial institutions and corporations. Projects have included new facilities, additions, and renovations in structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.

  • Structural steel building systems have included braced frame, moment resisting frame, or in combination with concrete or masonry shear walls.
  • Reinforced concrete systems have included core or distributed shear walls and moment resisting frame.
  • Reinforced concrete floors have included one-way and two-way slabs with integral beams, flat slab with drop panels, flat plate with and without column capitals.
  • Floor systems for steel buildings have included composite concrete steel decks and precast concrete slabs.
  • Cladding systems have included precast concrete, glass curtain wall, brick veneer with block or steel stud back-up, various prepainted steel systems, and specialized metal cladding systems.
