Institutional Architectural

Atkinson Engineering Inc. provides Architectural services to institutional clients such as universities, hospitals, and school boards. We have carried out a large number of projects at McMaster University involving new construction and renovations to technical, educational and administrative facilities requiring architecture and a high engineering component. Numerous projects have required the space planning layouts and design for both research and undergraduate laboratories. Design of various special research facilities include high level radiation labs, animal research labs, biomolecular and materials research labs, and computer and software research labs. Many McMaster projects have incorporated the design for classrooms, lecture theatres, department offices, seminar rooms, washrooms, lounges, and food service facilities. Atkinson Engineering Inc. has carried out Architectural designs for various facilities at the Hamilton Health Sciences hospital sites and other hospitals. Designs have included renovation for facilities such as ophthalmology clinic, biochemistry lab, new offices for parking and purchasing departments, emergency department pediatric fast-track clinic, alterations to operating rooms, multi-media shop, coffee shop, data and voice equipment rooms.
